DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arrive at Kigali international airport where you will be welcomed by your guide. Enjoy a city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, local craft markets and historical sites. After, you will be transferred to your hotel for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to akagera national park and afternoon game drives
After breakfast, drive to akagera national park which is Rwanda’s only savannah park. on arrival check into the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon embark on a game drive where you will spot giraffes, zebras, antelopes and many more as you explore the parks open plains. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
After morning breakfast, head to the park for a game drive where you will search for lions, elephants, buffalos and other wildlife. After, return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, head for a boat safari on lake ihema where you will spot hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds. After return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe national park
After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to nyungwe national park. pass through beautiful rolling hills and tea plantations. On arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy dinner as well as prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
Rise early and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, enter into the forest in search of the chimpanzees with the help of the experienced guides. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend an hour with them as you watch them play, breastfeed, groom and nurture one another. After the trek, return to the lodge for a relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon, take the famous canopy walk which offers breathtaking views of the forest from above. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Drive to Lake Kivu
Have morning breakfast and embark on the journey to lake Kivu for a day of relaxation. After arrival, check into your lodge for lunch. Spend the evening relaxing at the lake resort, enjoy a boat cruise or move to the neighbouring fishing villages.
Day 7: Transfer to volcanoes national park
Have a leisurely morning with breakfast. After, check out of t
he resort and embark on the journey to volcanoes national park. upon arrival, check into your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and prepare for the next day.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking and departure
Early morning after breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing enter into the forest in search of the gorillas. Once the gorillas are found, spend an hour with these gentle giants as you watch them play, breastfeed and nurture their young ones. After gorilla trekking, return to the lodge for lunch.
After, embark on your journey back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
