DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Arrive at Kigali international airport and meet your driver guide for a warm welcome. Take a city tour to explore the Kigali genocide memorial, local markets and craft shops. After, head to your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe national park

After breakfast, drive through Rwanda’s scenic countryside towards nyungwe national park. stop enroute at the kings palace museum in Nyanza or the ethnographic museum in Huye for cultural insights. On arrival at the lodge, enjoy dinner and rest ahead of the next day adventure.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk in nyungwe forest

After early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing and then later head into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once located, spend an hour with them as you watch them play, feed, jump from one tree to another and grooming their young ones. After return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, experience the thrilling canopy walk which offers breathtaking aerial views of the rainforest. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to volcanoes national park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s land of a thousand hills as you make your way to volcanoes national park. Arrive in the afternoon and check into the lodge and enjoy a relaxing evening with views of the Virunga mountains.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park

Embark on one of the most iconic experiences of your african vacation safari which is gorilla trekking. After a morning briefing, hike through the forest to find a gorilla family. once located, spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants before returning to your lodge for a relaxed evening.

Day 6: Golden monkey tracking and visit to iby’iwacu cultural village

After early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, head into the forest in search of the golden monkeys. Once located, spend an hour with these primates in their habitat. After, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the iby’iwacu cultural village where you will learn about Rwanda’s traditions and culture. While there, you will participate in making local beer from bananas, participate in local traditional dance and as well wear their cultural wear. After the visit, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Akagera national park

In the morning after breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to akagera national park. on arrival check into your lodge for lunch.

After in the evening, head out to the park for a game drive where you will see animal species such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes among others. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Game drive and boat cruise then Departure

After morning breakfast, go for a game drive where you will have the opportunity to see animals like lions, leopards, buffalos among others. After return to the lodge for a relaxation and lunch.

Have an afternoon boat cruise on lake Ihema where you will spot hippos, crocodiles and vibrant bird species. After return to the lodge, refresh, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
