DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arrive at Kigali international airport where you will be met by your professional driver guide. Depending on your arrival, you will take a short Kigali city tour visiting the Kigali genocide memorial and local markets. After, check into the hotel and prepare for the next day activities.
Day 2: Transfer to Akagera national park
After breakfast, embark on the journey to akagera national park. upon arrival, check in at the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on an afternoon game drive where you will spot animals like elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and various antelopes among others. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and boat safari in akagera national park
In the morning after breakfast, head to the national park for an early morning game drive through Akagera’s diverse landscapes. Look out for lions, leopards, rhinos and a variety of bird species. After, return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, head for a boat cruise where you will encounter hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to volcanoes
After morning breakfast, check out of the hotel and embark on the journey to volcanoes national park. on arrival, check in the hotel for a relaxation, dinner and preparation for the next day activities.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking
Rise early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, join your group and guided to trek through the forest in search of a mountain gorilla family. once they are located, spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Golden monkey trekking and visit to iby’iwacu cultural village
Start the day with breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about golden monkey trekking. after the briefing, head into the forest in search of the golden monkeys. Once located, you will spend an hour with the monkeys in their habitat. After return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, head to the iby’iwacu cultural village where you will get to learn about Rwanda’s culture and tradition. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy breakfast at the hotel and later check out. After embark on the journey back to Kigali and on arrival, you will be dropped off at the Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
