DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to volcanoes national park
Your African vacation safari begins with a warm welcome at Kigali international airport. After a safari briefing, embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda’s lush hills to volcanoes national park which is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. On arrival at the lodge, check in and prepare for the next day activity.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. Join experienced guides and trackers as you hike through dense forests to find a habituated gorilla family. spend an hour observing their behaviour from playful juveniles to powerful silverbacks. After the trek, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Virunga national park
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Virunga national park. drive to Goma border crossing and enter the democratic republic of Congo. Complete border formalities and transfer to your lodge. On arrival, check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
Embark on your second gorilla trekking adventure, this time in the Virunga national park. guided by expert rangers, hike through lush forests to encounter another gorilla family in their natural habitat. This trek offers a different perspective on gorilla behaviour and the conservation efforts in the region. After the trek, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Return to Kigali and departure
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer back across the border into Rwanda. Enjoy a scenic drive back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home.
