DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to nyungwe
Your African safari adventure begins with a pick up from Kigali in the morning. After a safari briefing, drive through Rwanda’s lush countryside towards nyungwe forest. On arrival, you will check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Begin hiking on the Cyinzobe trail
After an early breakfast, start your guided hike along the Cyinzobe trail, one of Nyungwe’s most exciting routes. The trail winds through steep ridges, lush valleys and dense rainforest. As you hike, spot primates like colobus monkeys and mangabeys, along with colourful bird species that make Nyungwe a paradise for nature lovers. Stunning waterfalls and serene forest views highlight the day, offering moments of pure tranquillity in this unique African vacation safari destination. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day hiking adventure on Cyinzobe trail
Rise early for a full day exploration of the Cyinzobe trail. Todays trek delves deeper into Nyungwe with more challenging climbs, breathtaking ridges and refreshing waterfalls along the way. The forest comes alive with bird calls, butterflies and sightings of playful primates. Your guide will interpret the ecological wonders of the park from medicinal plants to rare orchids. This immersive hike ensures you experience Nyungwe at its best, raw, beauty and unforgettable. After a rewarding day, return to the lodge for dinner and a rest.
Day 4: Nature walk and return to Kigali
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and set out on a short morning nature walk, giving you one last chance to enjoy Nyungwe’s rainforest before departure. Depending on your interest, you can focus on birding, primates or flora. After return to the lodge and relax. Later check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped at the Kigali international airport or hotel.
