DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to nyungwe and chimpanzee trekking
Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel or international airport and embark on your journey to nyungwe forest national park. on arrival at the park, you will check into your lodge and freshen up.
Later in the afternoon, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour with them while observing their fascinating social behaviours. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Day 2: transfer to the volcanoes and visit the iby’iwacu cultural village
After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to volcanoes national park. the drive offers a breathtaking view of lake Kivu, terraced hillsides and volcanic peaks in the distance. Arrive in Musanze late in the afternoon and check in the lodge.
Later in the evening, you will visit the iby’iwacu cultural village for a taste of traditional Rwandan culture. After the visit, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and preparation for the next day activities.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and departure
After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette and group allocation. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour observing them, watching them eat, play, rest and interact in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to the lodge for a freshen up and lunch. Later check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off at the international airport for your flight back home.
