DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to nyungwe forest national park
Your safari begins with a pickup from Kigali and after meeting your driver guide, you will embark on the journey to nyungwe forest national park. the drive offers breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, tea plantations and charming rural villages. On arrival, you will arrive at your lodge where you will check in for a relaxation, dinner and preparation for the adventure.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk in Nyungwe
Wake up early for breakfast before heading into the rainforest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure. Guided by experienced park rangers, you will track chimpanzees through the forest as they call, play and swing in the treetops. Watching these primates up close is one of the most thrilling moments of an African safari. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, set out on the famous Nyungwe canopy walk, where a suspension bridge 70 meters above the ground offers panoramic views of the lush forest and its birdlife. This thrilling activity is a highlight for anyone on an African vacation safari. After the canopy walk, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Guided nature walk and return to Kigali
Enjoy breakfast and then take part in a guided nature walk along one of Nyungwe’s many forest trails. Depending on your interest, you might hike the Isumo waterfall trail for stunning views of a dramatic cascade or the kamiranzovu swamp trail for birdwatching and orchid spotting. After the walk, return to the lodge for lunch.
After, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
