DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Kigali & Volcanoes National Park
Pick up from your Kigali hotel or airport. Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Musanze, gateway to volcanoes National Park. The journey offers spectacular views of Rwanda’s lush countryside and terraced hills, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch while admiring views of the Virunga Volcanoes.
In the afternoon, visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village (Gorilla Guardians Village) to experience traditional Rwandan dances, music and crafts. learn about the history, customs and resilience of local communities. After the visit, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Kivu
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. with your ranger guide venture into the forest to track a specific gorilla family. trekking may take 2-6 depending on the gorilla’s location.
