DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and city tour

Arrive at the international airport of Kigali where your guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. If time permits, you will enjoy a brief Kigali city tour where you will visit places like the Kigali genocide memorial and local craft markets. After head to your lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to akagera national park and evening game drive

In the morning, check out of the lodge and embark on a drive to akagera national park which is Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the big five. On arrival, check into the lodge for lunch.

Later in the evening, head out for a game drive to spot animals like giraffes, elephants, zebras and antelopes. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full day game drive

Spend the day exploring akagera on a full day game drive with an expert guide, you will track lions, leopards and rhinos along with plenty of herbivores and bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Boat cruise on lake ihema and transfer to Kigali

In the morning enjoy a boat cruise on lake ihema where hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds dominate the scene. After the cruise, return to Kigali for a relaxed evening and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to nyungwe national park

Journey through Rwanda’s rolling hills to nyungwe national park. Along the way visit the kings palace museum in Nyanza and the Ethnographic museum in Huye. On arrival check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: chimpanzee trekking

After morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, enter into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once they are located spend an hour with these species. After return for lunch then relax at the lodge or enjoy a nature walk in the afternoon.

Day 7; Canopy walk and waterfall hike

Take a morning canopy walk on a suspended bridge above the forest offering panoramic views and great birdwatching opportunities. After return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, hike to one of Nyungwe’s beautiful waterfalls for a scenic photograph opportunity. After, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Kivu relaxation

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to lake Kivu Rwanda’s most picturesque lakeside destination. Spend the day relaxing on the beach, swimming or enjoying a sunset boat cruise and an overnight by the lake

Day 9: Transfer to volcanoes national park

After breakfast, depart for volcanoes national park in northern Rwanda. On arrival, check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park

Day 11: Golden monkey tracking and cultural experience
