DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1; Arrival in Kigali

On arrival at Kigali international airport, you will meet your safari guide and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, enjoy a Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, artisan markets and cultural centres. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to akagera national park and evening game drive

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to akagera national park. on arrival, check into the lodge and have lunch.

In the afternoon, head to the park for an evening game drive where you will spot giraffes, elephants, antelopes as the sun dips behind the horizon. After, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise

After breakfast, head to the park for a morning game drive where you will be able to spot the big five animals and many more. After, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on lake ihema where you will spot hippos, crocodiles and a number of water birds. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park

After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Nyungwe forest national park. on arrival, check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, enter into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once located, you will spend an hour with these primates in their natural habitat. After, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, take on a thrilling nyungwe canopy walk, offering panoramic views of the forest. After, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to lake Kivu

After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to lake Kivu and on arrival, you will spend the evening relaxing along the shores of the lake, take s sunset boat ride or stroll through Gisenyi town.

Day 7: Transfer to volcanoes national park

after a relaxed morning, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to volcanoes national park. on arrival, check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and prepare for the next day activities.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking

After morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, enter into the forest in search of the endangered mountain gorilla family. once located, you will spend an hour with the gorillas as you watch them play, groom their little ones and breastfeed. After the trek, return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Hike to Dian Fossey and visit to iby’iwacu cultural village

After breakfast in the morning, you will head to the park headquarters for a hike to Dian Fossey located between mount Karisimbi and mount Bisoke. The hike takes 3-4 hours and it offers breathtaking views of the Virunga volcanoes. After, return to the lodge for lunch.

Waking up at leisure, have breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the return journey to Kigali. Depending on your time of departure, you will have the last minute shopping before heading for your flight at the airport.
