DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Arrive at Kigali international airport where the guide will welcome you and brief you about the african safari. After, have a brief Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, artisan shops and kimironko market. After the visit, you will be taken at your lodge for a relaxation and prepare for the next day activities.

Day 2: Transfer to akagera and evening game drive

Early morning after breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to akagera national park. on arrival, check into the hotel for a relaxation and lunch. Later in the evening, embark on a game drive where you will spot animals like giraffes, zebras, elephants and many more. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise

Early morning, head into the park for a game drive where you will spot animals like rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and a variety of bird species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a relaxation and have breakfast.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on lake ihema and as well have the opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles and water birds thus making your african vacation safari an amazing one.

Day 4: Transfer to nyungwe forest national park

Early in the morning after breakfast, check out of the lodge and start on the journey to nyungwe forest national park. on arrival, check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

In the morning after breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters in nyungwe for a briefing. After the briefing, head into the forest in search of the chimpanzees. Once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them play, feed and swing in their natural habitat. After, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, experience the thrilling nyungwe canopy walk offering breathtaking views of the forest and great photography opportunities. After, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to lake Kivu

In the morning after breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to lake Kivu. On arrival, you can take a boat ride or explore Gisenyi town for a serene african vacation safari experience.

Day 7: Transfer to volcanoes national park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and head to volcanoes national park, passing scenic hills and villages along the way. On arrival, check into the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and prepare for the next day activity.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking

After early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, head into the forest in search of the gorillas with the help of experienced guides. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with these gentle giants as you watch them play, breastfeed and groom each other. After the trekking, you will return to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Golden monkey tracking and visit iby’iwacu cultural village

After early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After, enter in the forest in search of the golden monkeys and once located, you will spend an hour with these primates. After, return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the iby’iwacu cultural village where you will experience Rwandan traditions, dance and local cuisine thus offering a cultural insight to the african vacation safari.

Day 10: Transfer back to Kigali and departure

Wake up at leisure, have breakfast and check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. On arrival, depending on your flight schedule, explore Kigali city and have a last minute shopping before departure.
