DETAILED ITINERARY
Pick up from Kigali at 5;30am and embark on a 2-3hour scenic drive through rwandas western hills. The scenic drive provides the perfect prelude to your African safari. On arrival at the park headquarters, you will be welcomed by a park ranger and then be briefed. After the briefing, you will embark on your chimpanzee tracking adventure into Gishwati forest.
The trail may lead through steep, muddy paths but you will be surrounded by ancient trees, bird calls and morning mist. The tracking can last 2 to 5 hours depending on the location of the chimps who move freely across the forest in search of fruits
Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour observing the chimpanzees and watch them forage, groom, swing through trees or call to one another. The experience is deeply rewarding when successful. This encounter is an unforgettable highlight of your African vacation safari. After the trek, return to the forest headquarter for lunch. After relax and recharge while enjoying views of the rainforest edge.
Later continue your exploration with a guided nature walk along one of the parks eco trails that is Umushwati trail, waterfall trail and matyazo hill. These trails highlight the parks diverse ecosystems and serve as a great opportunity for birders, photographers and botany enthusiasts
After the nature walk, you will embark on your journey back to Kigali. On arrival, you will be dropped at Kigali, hotel or any place of convenience.
